Excellence in Practice: Innovation and Excellence in Workflow and Imaging
Published in Hardcover by Future Strategies (01 March, 1997)
Authors: Layna Fischer and Connie Moore
Average review score:

Explore the possibilities
This book gives abstracts of companies that implemented workflow, imaging and electronic document management.

The abstracts give insight as to how each company solved their respective business problems, the methodologies used and the outcomes compared to expectations.

This is a good book for management. The industries, problems, solutions, scale, and vendors are all varied. Management can get a good feel for the context within which workflow, EDMS and imaging can be used. (That it is an easy, quick read also helps.)

Worth the money. We bought 3 to disperse throughout our enterprise.

Good insights
It was gratifying to get real details right down to how many computers, servers, scanners etc., with their precise configurations. The ROIs were clearly shown, and the business propositions were spelled out. We found the data in the case studies extremely helpful in presenting a case to management for our own reengineering effort.

This paradigm for our times details the life of a frog called Fenton who is given a pair of rose tinted spectacles by a catfish and then charges headlong into a life of virtual business. Unfortunately a passing cod knocks them off one day and Fenton's business world is revealed to be as solid as the emperor's new clothes. Inevitably Fenton is forced to see reality and has no choice but to leap off a cliff.

this book changed my life
A fantastic read for anyone involved in a startup , all the thrills and spills. Tracking the meteoric rise and sudden downnfall of Fenton. Who now lives in Ohio as a hill-top gardener.

NB: uses lots of West-Coast American Jargon.

A First Course in Linear Algebra
Published in Hardcover by Harpercollins College Div (February, 1992)
Authors: Hal G. Moore and Adil M. Yaqub
Average review score:

Excellent text
This is an outstanding, well-written, and interesting text. Highly recommended for university coursework.

This book is great!
Yaqub's book is the best "first" book for a "first" upper divsion course in linear algebra. It provides a good transition from the freshman calculus to that of more advanced courses. The book is not terse but is verbose and easy to read. Hence, concepts jump off the page at you. This book develops mathematical maturity, which is needed in higher courses.

Five Silent Years of Corrie ten Boom, The
Published in Paperback by Zondervan (23 May, 1986)
Authors: Pamela Rosewell and Pamela Rosewell Moore
Average review score:

Corrie ten Boom - My Inspiration...
How wonderful to know how Corrie lived her last five years on earth. Her only goal in life was to bring others to Jesus, who she loved and lived for. Her relationship with Jesus and how she lived is something we should all strive for. What an inspirational book. It was like Corrie herself was talking to me. Though she is now in heaven God still uses her to speak to us.

Last days of Corrie ten Bonn
I had always wondered how Corrie ended her days on Earth. This book is a well written witness of how she overcame difficult situations in her last days and how she never stopped showing God's love, even when unable to speak. A must reading for all those who love Corrie's books and a message to cheer us during difficult times.

Flight Surgeon: With 81st Fighter Group in WW-II
Published in Hardcover by Macedon Publishing Co. (15 August, 1999)
Authors: Samuel T. Moore, James Edwin Alexander, James Edwin Alexander, and MD, Sam T. Moore
Average review score:

Great memory for details, humerous stories.
I enjoyed this book for personal reasons, but aside from that, I thought the author's perspective gave the stories depth to many of the impersonal aspects of the war. He is a great story teller, and adds that personal detail that makes them come to life. I recommend this book to young and old - in fact to anyone who wants to learn about this time period through the eyes of a young surgeon who served on five fronts and lived to tell about it.

A beautifully crafted, highly enjoyable book.
An able and highly enjoyable job of getting the facts out with the tone of our shared WW-II experiences. Am impressed with the precision of writing. Moore has done all of us a huge favor, and I, for one, am most grateful. Brig. General Robert A. Duffy, USAF (Ret.)

For My Eyes Only: My Life with James Bond
Published in Hardcover by Chrysalis Books (30 March, 2001)
Authors: John Glen and Roger Moore
Average review score:

A Must Have for All James Bond Fans
Director John Glen tells of his experience with the James Bond film series strait up. At the helm of five of the films as director Glen pulls no punches and offers great insight into the creative efforts of the whole Bond film team. This is a great book and even more so if you are a James Bond fan. I really like this book. There is really no gloss here. This is really about what went into making these films while Albert R. Broccoli was still alive and producing them. I highly recommend this book.

Great book for Bond fans and film students!
I have waited for months to get this book and believe me, it was worth the wait! John Glen, who directed 5 James Bond movies, takes us on an incredible journey into the world of 007, filmmaking, and his relationships between his cast and crew. Starting out as an editor, Glen tells the story on how Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli gave him the opportunity of a lifetime when he asked him to direct 1981's For Your Eyes Only. Learn some of the reasons why Timothy Dalton's 1989 Bond film Licence to Kill was not only a flop with American audiences, but why it was also his last 007 film. Glen even tells us who he thinks should be the next Bond as well as his opinions on each of the five actors in the role. This book is a must for any Bond fan or any film student. Thanks Mr. Glen for a wonderful read! I couldn't put it down.

The Forgotten Helper: A Christmas Story
Published in Hardcover by Delacorte Press (10 October, 2000)
Authors: Lorrie Moore and t Lewis
Average review score:

An appealing Christmas story for kids!
In Forgotten Helper, T. Lewis provides a Christmas story for kids with reading skills at the chapter book level: Aben is Santa's best toymaker -and the grouchiest, worst-behaved elf. When he's left behind by mistake, he must wait a whole year at a child's house for Santa's return - only to find his counterpart in an ill-behaved child. Black and white drawings in this appealing tale.

Wonderful Christmas Memories
We had this book when it was first printed in the 80s and it became a family traditon to read it to us kids every Xmas. We loved the naughtiness of the main characters --The forgotten helper "Aben" and the bratty girl he has to convince to be good..Kids can identify with both characters. We even named our cat Neba (Aben spelled backwards) because of her someitmes unpleasant personlity...although she's really very lovable...just like Aben really is in the book.

This not your typical Xmas book. Through many home moves over the years, I lost our copy. I'm thrilled it's back again. A bunch of people will be gettiing it from me this holiday. Thanks...JE

French Connection
Published in Paperback by Bantam Doubleday Dell ()
Author: Robin Moore
Average review score:

great detective story
I haven't even finished half of this book and now I am ready to review it. What a fantastic detective story. I dont live in NYC and wouldn't want to either but I can almost sense what it would be like. The author gives great geographical descriptions and also intense character descriptions which is what makes this book/story to me a good read. I literally lost interest in other things and read this book cover to cover without stopping. Try to find a hardbound edition because this is a story you will want to read over and over.

How Narcotics Detectives broke up a Mafia Drug Ring
Robin Moore writes a stunning novel that illustrates the fundementals of good detective work. Egan and Grosso are two Narcotics Detectives who track a mafia drug dealer, but they don't know that the mob is also part of a bigger drug ring with french dealers, who smuggle drugs over from France under the innocant cover of a famous French T.V. star. The Final bust is brilliant. A rcommended read for anyone who likes a classic novel of good detective work.

Friends to the Rescue
Published in Paperback by Frasier Street Publications (10 November, 2000)
Author: R. B. Moore
Average review score:

Great for Children AND Parents!
I am an elementary school teacher's aide and I highly recommend R.B. Moore's Friends to the Rescue! It's a great book for children of any age, and a good character-teaching tool for parents to utilize. It's a contemporary child's dream full of beautifully rendered illustrations of characters that look like people they may know! It's also a parent's wish of friendship, teamwork, responsibility, respect and overall good common sense.

Highly Recommended
I purchased a copy of this book for my 8-year-old son and I can't recommend it enough! Not only did he thoroughly enjoy it, but he learned some great life lessons as well. With its emphasis on friendship, honesty and responsibility, "Friends to the Rescue" reflects a world that we would all like to live in.
